The Bare Basics of Website Optimization

Has your website gone live and you are wondering what to do now to promote it? Are you worried that your website is not ranked on the first page of Google search? Are you looking for ways to gain a consistently high rate of traffic to your website? If these are the questions that you are asking yourself, you are in need of Website Optimization Lesson 101.

Blog Visibility

To be successful in running an online platform, you need visibility. If you do not upload fresh content consistently, the network will not deem you as an active performer. This will put pressure on your efforts to maintain a high rating system. Always make sure that you upload content regularly in order to maintain strong visibility and access. Your target audience must have regular updates on the new content you are uploading. They must know that you are actively working on bringing to them your services and products.

Details and Execution

Uploading content on your blog every day is just part of the battle for website optimizaton. The rest of the task needs to be achieved with meticulous planning and detailed execution. You need to understand how to get your page and content listed in the first page of Google itself… and that starts by investing in meta tags. Meta Tags are made up of essentially three different parts:

1. Title: In the code, this would appear in the "head" area. The title is what will come up on Google search lists. It will be a heading to your website.

2. Description: This is where you give a very short description of what your site is about. The information here has to be precise and short, since Google spiders will comb through only the first few words.

3. Keywords: You might put a lot of time and effort to write or find someone who can write a great article for you, but the article must include proper keywords so the Google spiders can mark your content. The Google search engine works in a very simple way: If your product is about plumbing, you need to look up the most popular keywords which people type into the "search" box to look for plumbing services. You make a list of them and then make sure to insert them in your content so that the Google spiders can comb through your posts and register the "keywords." The moment this is done, your content and blog link will come up on the Google's radar and be published anytime anyone searches the net using the same keywords.

What about Google Ads?
Google Ads let you have your content featured on the first page itself, but Google Ads go by cost-per-click method which means that every single click on the link will cost you certain amount of money. If your content does not contain proper keywords and good meta tags, the cost for each click will be much higher. Overall, this process will not be very cost-effective for you. But if you ensure that you are using meta tags effectively, your content will generate traffic and the cost per click will be less.

A good content with proper meta tags will help you to get more customers. An effective website speed optimization will ensure high sell-throughs and conversion rates. And finally you will find a good return on your investment. Remember that your blog content should always rank high on the SERPS (Search Engine Results Page) to gain maximum visibility.
